Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement shall prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Exeter
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Exeter, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. You are required to possess a valid driving license suitable for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of your current address must be presented, along with payment information and a security deposit. 3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Exeter office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Exeter, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, with allowances for normal wear and tear. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should not be used beyond its intended purpose, including exceeding passenger or weight limits. Driving outside the specified geographical area without prior authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Exeter will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
10. Terms Update Notification
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
